Hi guys, sorry to be beating a dead horse, but I'm not extremely experienced with Apple computers, and wondering which Macbook would best suit my needs.
I'm torn between the cheapest 13' MBP and the cheapest 13' MBA (both ~$1100 I believe)
I tend to use (heavily): Excel, SPSS, Logic Pro, Ableton Live.
Occasionally use: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, iMovie (possibly Final Cut if they get things together again).
Biggest concerns - Macbook Air lack of upgradeability, Macbook Pro heat, Macbook Pro screen resolution.
If I get the MBP, I plan to upgrade the HDD to an SSD immediately, how much will this help with heat issues? I have not experienced it first hand, but have heard many first hand accounts.
I also previously lost a laptop where the motherboard warped and the battery died due to heat issues and don't really want to deal with the same thing again.
This notebook would mainly be for portable use. I have a more than capable PC to handle most tasks that would be CPU-intensive, but I'm not satisfied with the video-editing/audio-production software that is available for PC, so in those cases I would use my laptop. I also have terabytes upon terabytes of networked storage, so it's also not an issue.
If anyone has a MBA/MBP and uses programs such as Logic/Photoshop, iMovie; could they please share their experiences as well?
Thank you
