13" Pro Battery Showing an X and non existant

Anyone have this issue my mac thinks there is no battery in it and it will shut down if i unplug the magsafe. This seems to have happened after the firmware update.

Have you tried resetting the SMC?

Then also reset the PRAM?
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

This doesn't delete your documents/music. It resets the "system controller" and may fix your problem.

i've had the same issue. did both resets and than after a week or so and a couple battery cycles it seemed to resolve itself.

Since it was a week old I jsut had apple swap it out for me. It was a bit of a hassle since it was a CTO but they did end up doing it for me.
