Every now and then, when I open up the lid of my macbook pro, the hinge clicks. Not that its bad or anything, but will Apple fix it for free as it is under warranty? How long does it take for me to get it back?

My 15" was doing that, turns out the screen was unaligned. I brought it in and had it back in two days with a new top/hinge.

Yes indeed. Apple is great about fixing these types of problems.

Mine does the same thing, like small clicks. It doesn't bother me and I don't really think it's a defect, seems to just be the way it is. Heck, you should hear my 4 year old work laptop (Dell).

My 13" uMBP does this. Every time I hear it makes me cringe, thinking the hinge is going to snap off.

My little brother's 13 does this as well, he doesn't seem to care but every time I hear it I tell him to call Apple Care and get it fixed before the hinge completely breaks.

@ OP: Call Apple and get it fixed before the real problems start.

Your problem is well documented and searching MRoogle before you ask a quesiton could prevent a lot of double posts.

On a lighter note, you can easily send your laptop to Apple for repair.

Mine is currently on it's way for the same problem. :D
