Hey everyone, got my 13 Pro Max 2 weeks ago however the battery life I get is almost as half as what other people get. I get 6 hours SOT and sometimes 7 but never more than that. It also runs warm to the touch while not doing anything intensive. I originally restored from my old xs max backup when I got the phone, I don’t know if this is causing the issue or the phone itself is defective. Any possible advice to fix this is appreciated.

Restore to factory settings, no backup, set up as new.
Download all you need, set up all you need and try that for a couple of days or better a week.
If this behaviour continues, get it inspected by Apple.

Same thoughts here, that’s the strategy I’d follow as well.

Full restore is OVER SOLD around here. It is NOT the cure all to whatever is wrong with devices. IMO, take your iPhone 13 Pro Max to an Apple Store or at least call and talk to their CS. Wait and see what they say before restoring. Restoring is a royal PITA and quite often doesn't do anything useful.

The problem is I bought the phone from the US and currently using it in Turkey. I took it to an apple store here in Turkey and they said they can't look at it because it's a US model. I guess ill have to try to restore it hoping it will fix itself.

If the new phone was set up from a backup, that’s the prime suspect.
My recommendation is to wipe and restore the phone to factory default (NOT FROM YOUR BACKUP) and then use the phone in its virgin state WITHOUT downloading any apps yet.
I betcha anything, the battery situation will improve.

Then slowly start adding apps. Checking battery performance as you do.

95% of my set ups from a backup worked flawlessly, but one didn’t and I had endless troubles with that phone UNTIL I set it up as new not from a backup.

Restoring a misbehaving iPhone to factory new and not using a backup is one of the primary troubleshooting tips Apple techs recommend.
And yes - it’s a royal pain.

I never fully killed the battery since I bought the phone. Today I am going to fully drain it and charge back up from 0%. If that doesn’t fix it I am going to restore it.

Erase and restore- especially if you can reinstall a backup after testing- is a valid troubleshooting step that’s often times needed to differentiate between software and hardware issues and that can be comfortably done at home without having to consult with third parties.

Try a reset of all settings to see if that fixes anything before you do a full restore. Give it a week and then opt for the restore if the issue still hasn’t been fixed.

Last night I drained the battery all the way to 0% and then charged it back up to 100% and the issue seems to be fixed I have 2 hours 50 minutes SOT right now with 83% left

That’s the “old school” method to calibrate the SOC display that I usually recommend and several times I’ve heard others chime in that it doesn’t work anymore — obviously they don’t know what they’re talking about.

I have had the same issue with my 13 PM since launch, I did a device-to-device transfer. I cannot restore even though I have an iCloud backup because I always have trouble getting photos/messages to sync. Just going to live with 6 hours of SOT, it's not bad but not great.
