Just wondering about the heat and fans from a macbook pro. This is the first macbook pro, i've had before I had a 2010 white macbook and never really had it get hot once. But for some reason this macbook never really gets hot even when using photoshop and having other programs open and doing some word processing etc. But as soon as i start watching youtube videos (with nothing else open) it gets hot to the touch?

Just wondering if this is normal or not? And also since i've had it, i've not once heard the fans.

Flash video consumes power and battery a lot, that's why now we are abandoning it and moving to html 5.

Hi,

You should try downloading & installing the app "SMCFanControl." It is very dandy. I game a lot, and my macbook pro is very old (mid-2009) and I use this app to regulate the fan speed to reduce the amount of heat.
