I'm thinking of purchasing the new Late 2013 rMBP 13" - will the Iris Graphics be able to handle the 2560x1440 resolution of the TBD without any stutter? (For use only with Logic Pro X).

Also, is there a way to run a Macbook in clamshell mode (in Mavericks that is, since I heard from some that it doesn't work)

works fine I have mavericks, you can never predict random problems people have, but it is supposed to work and mine does.

assuming that its own display has resolution of 2560x1600, it should by no problem running on 2560x1440

I have the 2013 13" rMBP hooked up to a 27" apple cinema display. The macbook is always in clamshell and it runs exactly as it should.

you know you dont have to have a retina display to run big screens right? I have a classic MBP and I run thunderbolt just fine..the retina display has a better display and so happens better graphics probably but that has nothing got to do with what display you can run externally, cinema display has been out for years before retina was out so graphics card ability is not a concern.
