Yeah, I just wanted to put this to rest. You don't need 16GB for professional photography. And you won't future proof anything beyond adding a bit of resale value.
I'm running a base 13" with touchbar, and that's with the 8GB. I'm running this with Lightroom, PS, PS Elements and a bunch of plug-ins.
Connected is a new 4K Dell P2715Q monitor connected via USB-C to Displayport adapter. Works PERFECTLY with stunning IQ.
Now...I opened 5 files, JPEG and RAW into PS, two more into Lightroom and left the mail client going and then pushed 4K video to the 27" screen just to be annoying!
The picture files are from a Nikon D800 and Df, so they are fat files.
That's it. No tweaks of any kind and everything ran smoothly. I could open, close and adjust files, work with layers and so on. No issues or slowdowns period. So if you want a photographic tool, the 13" touchbar is awesome.
Please pardon this pic...set up in the kitchen to make sure this new monitor was working!
Happy shooting!
Robert
