What is it when idle and what are your ambient temps?

At around 75-80F, I get around 50C CPU idle, and last night at our local student center with chillier AC, I was seeing 43C idle for the CPU. And this is for a presumably less hot i5.

If your ambient temps are high, that will affect your load CPU temp a lot.

You mean video chatting with skype? That's completely normal. As a previous poster also mentioned, expect your idle CPU temps to be around 50C.

Yup. That's typical for Skype or any video chatting program. Skype, Google Video Chat, Facetime, MSN, they will all run your Air hot. Key is if you keep your ambient temperatures decent, having it go 80 or so is fine. I am generally on Google Video Chat for 4+ hrs a day, at 70-80 degrees with no issues.

Take it from a guy who's been in a long distance relationship for 2+ years and uses video chat all the time:)
