New MacBook Air Lion Recovery, chunk validation fails

I just got a new MacBook Air and I wanted to do a clean install, yes, I'm a bit neurotic. I chose the Lion Recovery option. The download starts all nicely and goes on for quite a while. The display says it's going to take less and less minutes to finish. Then all of a sudden it says it'll take more than 2 hours and the log shows that the validation of chunks of data failed. Anybody know what's going on here and how to fix this? I seem to have bricked my MacBook Air...
