Alright, being the n00b I am, I bought a headset with analog outputs, thinking the microphone would work with my mac flawlessly, just like everything else. HAHAHAHA! So, I went ahead and tried to find out how to fix the problem, and it turns out I need an iMic or some other sort of preamp that costs money I don't want to spend because the line-in port doesn't expect the low level signals of microphones. So, I was wondering if anyone hacked it so that the computer would expect a signal that low or anything like that through the console or anything, ANY SOLUTION THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE MONEY OR LOUSY SOFTWARE. Thanks in advance.

That's what I was afraid of, but the headset is just so awesome, that I will just go ahead and blow the money on the iMic whenever i get around to it. Thanks for the help.

you can get lucky on eBay and get the iMic cheap.
