I bought a Macbook Air 2011 13 on eBay for 1075.00. I got it yesterday and it has a strange issue. When I click about this Mac it says it's an i5 with 1.7 GHz, with Thunderbolt. But the case does not have the thunderbolt insignia. The keyboard is bulging out and a couple of screws are missing from the bottom. The macbook air is running super slow. The seller wants me to send it back for a refund. He assures me that he will refund my money.

Start a case with eBay so they will hold your money from the seller until they (eBay) confirm delivery back to the seller.

$1075 from ebay is too much for that model anyway. A refurbished 2011 base 13" Air from Apple is $1099 and comes with a full year warranty.

Remember that not everything on ebay is a good deal.

Definitely file a claim with ebay/Paypal.

Dd you research the model first? Like the above poster said, you paid too much. File a claim for the obvious warranty-voiding issues (opening the case) and hope to recover most of your cash.

That assurance isn't worth anything.

File a claim...today.

Wow... That was a bad purchase.

Stay away from ebay and craigs list

Craigslist lets you view the goods prior to paying. Meet in public places, review goods, then pay. Plus they don't take a huge cut of the sale (I sell all my electronics on CL).

Agree completely. To the OP, refurb is a far better way to go than eBay; you get a machine that has been tested individually, is as good as new, comes with a full one year warranty and sells at a discount.

I'm glad you were able to get your money back.

Better luck in the future with purchasing a Mac.
