What are some must have apps from cydia. I am new to iPhone and I want to be able to use it from every aspect I can.

Hi and Welcome to the Dark Side.

Their are lots of tweaks available available via Cydia.

Just don't go installing wildly without checking first of any compatibility issues.
Do a little homework first.

If you use the search function on MacRumors you will be able to read existing threads on useful tweaks, and peoples opinions on them.

Also use YouTube for tutorials.

Their are many many sites and blogs online that bring news on new tweaks.

As an example i use, mygreatiphone.com.

For themes i use both Cydia and Themeit.
You will need Winterboard for most themes.

Another must in my opinion is ifile.

Enjoy modding your iPhone.

I usually google best cydia apps 2012
Or best cydia tweak
There is tons of sites and vids to look at.
And doesn't hurt to use the search bar at the top right of this forums.
For me sprintomize (customize almost every area of my phone)
Activator (use gestures to unlimited extent)
Sbsettings (shortcut to/of setting control)
Locksliderz (have up to eight shortcut slider on lockscreen)
Zephyr (use iPad like gestures to navigate thru iPhone)
Pandoraskip (unlimited skips on pandora## great at my workplace)
....just to name a few

Don't bother with interface crap, except for swapping the odd ugly app icon. Just use tweaks that make it a better smartphone.

the usual:

sbsettings, activator, folderenhancer, ssh, fakeclockup. And maybe things like batteryinfolite, a good wifi scanner like wififofum etc.

YouTube Downloaders

YourTube seems to be unavailable for iOS 5.1 on my iPhone, but if you see it, it's definitely worth downloading. It lets you download youTube videos in the iPhone's YouTube app.

If you can't find it/don't want to pay, Atube is a good free replacement. It has it's own app and downloads videos, but YourTube is definitely more slick.

Tweaks like lockdown are also nice for stopping people from reading your messages without having to go through the trouble of putting the code in every time you unlock your phone :)

Oh, great tip! I see people mention it every now and then, but I never really read up on it. Just bought it and it's great. Rids me of little things that I consider to be in my way more than being of use, like spotlight, icon wiggle, voice control. And I also love that I can have apps in the app switcher be ready to quit. Just had springboard crash though, but I suspect that's because I removed fakeclockup with cydia. We'll see. So far it looks like a euro and a half well spent.

NICE!! Yuup springtomize is great hadnt discover it til later on of my jailbreak
But it was the first tweak I downloaded after I jailbreak my gf and sis phone.
Well worth the money!!

+1 fakeclockup
on iphone 4s is insanely fast!

Previous 'Fakeclockup' user and I did notice that it drained my 4S battery a little quicker when I had it installed. Anyone else notice this as well?

Current fav apps:

BiteSMS
Springtomize 2
Activator
Call Bar

PhotoAlbums+

If youre looking for a Youtube alternative I HIGHLY recommend ProTube. IMO ProTube is the best Youtube alternate. You should check it out. It's phenomenal.

I had a look at ProTube, you're right it's excellent! But I still miss YourTube's integration with the native YouTube app...

Oh yea good point. If you want something integrated into the stock app then protube is not the solution. Thanks for the reply!
