Macbook Pro 15" sudden drops on battery life

Yeah, you can still use it, but you might run out of warranty coverage if you wait too long.

Been using a 15" 2009 for 6 months with a service battery

Sounds like there's a hole in the battery. Some of the wattage is slowly leaking out. It's nothing urgent but try to keep it away from living creatures.

Get it changed ASAP a battery that young shouldn't have degraded like that. If you continue to use it you risk it swelling

I don't know if it's because of the battery issue but my HD had a problem after a few days of noticing the battery problem (can't startup). Reformatted the HD and the problem went away though.

that is probably not related to the battery.
