I have the june 2012 MBP is it worth it to buy the magic mouse or tracpad?

I have both, but i definitely prefer the trackpad a lot more. But i think it's personal preference when it comes to this.

I've always loved the trackpad on the macbook pro, and there's a lot more you can do on the trackpad than on the mouse. Or it'd be easier at least (like pinch and zoom and stuff like that).

I'd recommend the Trackpad first. It's bigger and has more surface area for gestures.

If I were you, I'd buy the mouse... because you already have the trackpad... but you should go o the Apple store and check both of them out before you buy, just so you can get the feel for them.

Drew017's got some good advice, though I'll throw another wrench in the works ;) Will you be using your MBP mostly in clamshell mode or open? If open, I'd opt for the mouse. If in clamshell mode, then the trackpad.

I honestly wanted to like the magic mouse, and gave it a try, but couldn't stand it. I'm giving the trackpad a go now, and like it so far, although it does seem to be a bit more fatiguing on the wrist as your hand has to be bent up/backward a bit more than when using a mouse.

Between the two though, I give the trackpad the thumbs up.

I use a standard wireless usb mouse AND

a trackpad when I am running in clamshell with an external monitor. I think it gives me the best of both worlds and it isn't really that expensive.

I also would recommend the mouse. Any mice from logitech or microsoft will do.

My opinions on input devices...

General usage:
Apple trackpad > Apple magic mouse > Logitech/MS mouse

Fast paced gaming:
Logitech/MS mouse >>> Apple magic mouse > Apple trackpad

Graphics editing:
Wacom tablet >>> Logitech/MS mouse > Apple magic mouse > Apple trackpad

If I could pick only one I'd go with an Apple trackpad. Give an additional choice I'd pick up a Logitech/MS mouse over a magic mouse.

If you use an external keyboard, yes. Moving your hand to the trackpad when it is behind your external keyboard is awkward.

I got the trackpad.

Apple's mice are pretty crappy, imho.

Agree to all of the above. I got a Targus mouse, serves me well.
