Hi everyone,
Been searching for an answer to this to no avail.
I'm looking at the 13in rMBP and was just wondering how minecraft goes on it. Only casually gaming with the kids, happy to turn settings down, etc.

From what I can tell minecraft/java will use the screen res selected System prefs (ie you cant select a lower res in-game) so I'm a bit concerned it will be quite slow with the HD4000 + 2560x1600 res. I'm not 100% certain what java 'sees' as the display res.

Can anyone share what performance is like on MC with the 13in/Integrated graphics?

If performance is a problem, any tips/workarounds?

Cheers,
Dave

I tried Minecraft for about 10minutes on my 13" rMBP...
My impression was that it is running very well, absolutely no lags or hangs. i even had graphics on fancy and render distance on far - after 5 minutes or so the fans kicked in.

Im running Minecraft Technic Pack on my rMBP i7. Graphics set to Fast, render distance far. 64bit Java, particles set to minimal, cloud is off and it works great. You can blew up a Nuke (in Technic Pack) and have no lags. Thats how smooth it is.

Minecraft won't see the real resolution, it will render to a 1280x900 buffer.
