Hey guys, my mum recently updated her iPhone to iOS 14.1 and now she can't open the Apple Watch app, it just sort of flickers then does nothing and remains on her screen, she can't delete it because its paired and she can't unpair because she can't access the app... any solutions? she wants to keep her activity, she's tried force restarting both devices but no luck, bluetooth showed the phone wasn't connected so she clicked connect but it said connected and nothing happened, so she removed it, but it can't find the watch again.

any suggestions apart from backing up the phone and restoring it? im guessing it some sort of installation issue?

Have you tried force touch. Press and hold the Watch app icon. A menu will pop up offering the chance to remove the app, edit home screen or pair apple watch. You could then unpair, remove and reinstall the app

doesn't allow it because it needs to unpair from the Apple Watch before deleting
