My phone has been stuck on the apple logo and full progress bar for the past 24 hours. When I press a button (screen lock, volume up or down) it says "iPhone will restart when update completes." It is plugged in. Is there anything I can do?

Try the force restart process (for your model). If you cannot force restart unplug it so battery will die.
