ok, i highly doubt the new mbp is going to come out within the next month, but IF there is, i have a question. say i buy the current mbp this wednesday, can I open and use this macbook pro for the next 14 days and still exchange it if the new mbp comes out? Or does it have to be sealed with the receipt on hand and no scratches on the box (and etc...)? i'm just a bit confused on this 14 day return policy, thanks.

You can use it as normal but be ready for the store to possibly charge you a restocking fee. Sometimes they won't, but most likely they will.

If you open it, then there is a 10% restocking fee as I recall. If not opened, returned with the receipt without any issues.

That is what I remember. :)

ok that makes sense, 10% would be almost $200 if i got a 15" im assuming. nbd right?

haha i had sarcasm in my voice when i typed that. atleast i tried to make it sound like it. 10% sounds like it's not a lot until you think about it.

its really easy to bypass the 10% policy, ive done it 4 times, you call apple tell them that the machine is overheating, they might ask you to run a few tests and after theyll give you a rma and shipping label. If you arent satisfied with a particular product you should be able to return it without any fees.

Ah, well thank you for never answering my question.

$200 restocking fee?

I wipe my butt with no less than $800 every day.

Not a big deal.
