iPad 14 days from today for returning or from order date?

I ordered my 4th Gen iPad on October 27 and obviously just received it today direct from China with a yellow screen problem that I may end up returning it. My question is: Do I have 14 days from when I ordered it or 14 days from today, when I received it? I kind of want to see if the problem goes away over time so I'd like to have as much time as possible. Also, if I do return it, does the 14 day thing get extended? I have heard of people returning theirs multiple times because of screen problems.
