I've been reading number of threads about the potential introduction of a 14" MacBook Pro and I am asking myself why would you want one?

Personally, I'd like to see Apple stick with the 13" MacBook Pro but innovate similarly to what Dell has done with the 2020 XPS13. I'd much rather have a smaller notebook with a 13" display than them effectively reusing, an arguably, dated form factor.

I've got a 2020 MacBook Pro on order as well as an XPS 13 (replacing 2017 MacBook Pro) to make a comparison but I'd be interested in people's thoughts as to why the 14" MacBook Pro makes sense.

Many people like the current size and the prospect of a slightly larger screen with less bezels is what the cool kids say is what we should have a-la the 16"

I guess it's like the 11" ipad Pro being the same or similar size to the 10.5" but with more screen.

Because I want a little bit bigger screen? Right now you have a choice between 13” which is a bit too small and 16” which is too large to carry traveling. They used to make 14” laptops and it was a good size.

OP, you are basically saying you want the existing screen in a smaller body and everyone that wants a 14" MBP want the existing body with a larger screen.

I think it all comes down to wanting less wasted space on bezels, but I personally prefer the 13" size over 12" size.

Also, it's not just 14", it's likely mini-LED (meh) and perhaps an option for no-TB. I would love a MBP with ports on both sides and no touchbar but it doesn't exist!

Because it’s 1 bigger.

If they can increase the screen size by a reasonable percentage while only marginally (or not at all) increasing the size of the machine itself then it’s a no brainer right?
