Concerned about the temp of the laptop. I have installed TG Pro and with just mail, messages, and safari running it shows average computer temp of 38 degrees and cpu temp of 44 degrees. My M1 MBP with the same workload is at 24/20. The new machine is noticeably warm.

Has anyone else noticed this? I wanted to see if this is normal before exchanging this unit.

Thanks in advance!

At 24/20 on your old system that would be colder than the temperature in your room / ambient wouldn’t it?

Mine ran warmer the first day and then cooled down a bit.

My 8-Core 14" is averaging around 50-55C (up to 60C) with just Safari, WhatsApp and Excel open, while scrolling around MacRumors on Safari.

Whether it's relatively high or not (which it is not) there is nothing to worry about in any case. These temperatures are completely benign.
