Last time out I bought the 13 mini as I much prefer the form factor vs the Pro, however I've been giving some serious thoughts to the 14 pro due to the camera upgrade.

I'm a photography enthusiast and use a full frame camera for the vast majority of photos however there are times when I'm out and about and don't have my camera with me and so like most will use my phone, however I've always been deeply disappointed in the image quality from the 13 mini and end up binning them. I think a big part of the problem is the processing, even though the images are typically oversharpened they also seem to be able to lose detail in the processing and fine detail becomes smudgy.

I've recently found some online samples from the 14 pro comparing straight out of camera jpegs vs the same photo taken with ProRaw which I then edited in lightroom and the difference is night and day, gone are the horrible artefacts.

So the questions are:-

Can you simultaneously save the image as both ProRaw and jpeg/HEIC (in case I want to use the image immediately)

Can you also capture ProRaw with the ultra wide angle and telephoto shots, and can you simultaneously capture the jpeg/HEIC too?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can via third party app, like procam, halide etc….
Thanks, so you can’t with the native camera app? I’ve seen reports of Halide crashing when you select the 48mp image size, so you know if this is a common issue?
