Other 14 Pro .... Will AOD disable screen wake on notifications?

So now that the iPhone has AOD, does that mean we will have a setting to disable the screen waking with notifications? Or maybe AOD auto disables screen wake? I surely hope so, that would make AOD worth it just for that. The screen waking from notifications while on AOD would be plain stupid.

And NO!!! One should not need to enable "do not disturb" mode, or disabling an app from lock screen notification.
 
One thing I’ve found that I don’t like with aod is it doesn’t turn back on when I get a notification. When it’s been sitting for a certain time and the aod turns off, then I get a notification, the screen stays black. So instead of turning back on for a certain amount of time so I can glance at it to see the notification, I have to tap the screen to turn it on to see the notification. This is goes against what the idea of the aod is. On my s22 ultra the aod stays on all the time. I know it’s not the same as iPhones, but it would be nice to have the option of just keeping the aod on. of course it would still turn off for things like being in the pocket.

When I get a notification my screen turns on for a second then it dims and goes back to AOD for me like it should.

After a certain amount of time my aod turns off and the screen goes black. i think this is intentional from what I’ve read. You must not be letting yours sit long enough to notice.
 
How long are we talking here, like an hour or something?

edit: Huh, apparently one of the Turn Off conditions is if:
  • You haven't used your iPhone for a while (your iPhone learns your activity patterns and turns the display off and on accordingly, including if you set up an alarm or sleep schedule)
edit (23 mins later): it happened!

lol yes. Now let’s see if you can replicate what I was talking about. Let the aod turn off. Then have someone send you a text. Does your aod stay off?
 
With AOD on, the screen "wakes" to the "normal" lock screen from AOD when a notification arrives.

This is somewhat counterintuitive, I'd expect the display to just stay in AOD mode when the notification arrives...

Yes I noticed that also. No reason for aod to wake at all from a notification since you see them at the bottom.
 
Not to mention the fact that, as it's OLED, the rest of the screen could stay dimmed and only the notification could appear at normal brightness, then fade back to AoD level
