Its got to be soon. Next chance for an upgrade is mid-2013 when Haswell is released. That is far too far away. Its already 5 months late.

perhaps, i'm putting the most weight on that date considering that's when most out of stock stores show availability of imacs, I've seen dates ranging available from sept. 24-sept 26, with the 25th being a Tuesday. Possible silent upgrade then seems more and more real. Especially it being after the back to school special ends.
