How man people in the world knows about the status of the next iMac?

Don't know a lot if you take into account the people in china building it

Well, the workers in China will only know what they're building, they won't know where the thing is going once they've finished.

Still going to be a reasonable number: top level management, iMac product management, a few developers, operations guys and a chunk of marketing department.

I cant help but think if there were a new Imac on the way, surely we would have seen a sly picture, piece of paper or even a decent rumour by now.

Are you sure? As far as I know there are only 10 in Apple sales..

Ah, yes, you're right. John moved to Logistics. So it's 10 in Sales and 24 in Logistics that know about the new iMac. Sorry!

You guys are idiots.....

Lovable idiots that made me laugh, but idiots nonetheless :D

It really amazed me about the iPhone, as far as the accuracy of the leaks, parts, specs, etc. Almost made me think this site should change it's name to MacFacts. But then again, 'Mac' is no longer really correct, is it?

I'll keep plinking away on my 13" MBP. New iMac (no longer calling it 2012) will be 'ready when it's ready', to quote another top-notch, well respected company (who is slipping, and losing respect due to poor marketing decisions).

The reason I asked is that I'm surprised that every one keeps their mouth shut, considering the number of people that must be involved in such a huge circus.

After all, it's pretty easy to be anonymous on the Internet.

Follow up question: How does one get punished if they leak info?

Its their job, no? If I work for apple and in the circle of knowing the new imac and i'm well paid and told to keep my mouth shut. I wouldn't even share it with my wife.

Follow up question: How does one get punished if they leak info?

They will get chopped up and feed it to the unicorns.

What's the incentive for leaking info?

Yeah if you have to remain anonymous you get no glory and you just come off as another troll. Not worth risking that paycheck.

If I was in the know at apple I would stay far far away from sites such as this.

I agree with you, but I also find it interesting, with all the leaks that iphone 5 had, and the fabled iPad mini. We have seen nothing on the iMac... I just don't know what to think anymore. But I remember someone saying awhile back that we would know an iMac is imminent when we see parts leaks, and shortages of iMacs...well we are seeing a shortage of iMacs, but I have not seen any part leaks. However, if I'm wrong correct me please...

I got tired of waiting for a new iMac so I broke down and got a great price on the current machine, slightly used. It's beautiful.
