How to report a problem with iOS 6 Maps

Launch Maps from the Home screen.

Tap the page curl at the bottom right.

Tap the text that says Report a Problem above the Print button, middle right.

Tap the type of problem you want to report: Search results are incorrect, street or other label is incorrect, location is missing, problem with directions, problem with satellite image, or if none of those fit, my problem isn't listed.

Tap Next.

Choose the search result, street label, etc. that's giving you the problem.

Tap Next.

Add any comments, if asked.

Tap Send.

That's it. Your report will be sent to Apple, and hopefully addressed in the mapping data base.

Tap location is missing.

Tap Next.

I am hoping that Google release a stand-alone app & that Apple approve it ASAP.

I am certain, however, that Apple will see this Maps things through, so we may as well work together to improve it quickly.

I just did a few error reports, but then stopped myself when I realized that I could easily spend hours trying to pinpoint (on Apple's behalf) the correct address of what I was looking for and which Apple's app did not even know existed.

I am not an Apple employee and I don't want to do their work for them AND pay for the privilege.

I did multiple reports during the beta's. Nothing has been fixed. I'm sure with millions of people reporting the same problems, they'll eventually fix it.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to this thread, I'm very grateful.

Reason being, I could be wrong, but it seems that there are many, many people complaining about issues on forums, blogs etc, but I'm concerned at how few of these are actually reporting the problems. If the lack of response to this thread is any indication, perhaps those concerns are warranted?

Let's face it, Apple are not going to completely back down & reinstate Google Maps and I'd be very surprised if they ever give us customers a choice as to where we want our map data to come from for application integration etc.

So, whether we like it or not, if we want maps to improve more rapidly, we need to do our bit.

Hopefully everyone that's complaining on the forums are also reporting the problems! And hopefully we can see some improvements within the Maps application.

You would like to think so, but unfortunately it seems that many aren't because they believe the application is just too error filled for them to make a difference.

I can sort of understand this, but unless Apple provide an alternative solution, ideally giving us back access to Google Maps (as well as the other applications that use mapping information), then we're kind of stuck with it.

the data is OK for most of the maps i tried, apple can't parse addresses right. you have to type it in the exact way they want you to. unlike google

I've also being reporting problems since Beta 1, none of them were fixed. Apple have sold over 2 million iPhone 5s, I don't think they care about the bad press much.
They got less press coverage for antennagate and they made an event to explain it. All the maps got was a PR statement by some women I've never heard of.

There are so many incorrect business locations in my area I wouldn't know where to start, plus there is no guarantee me reporting them will mean they're fixed.

Apple doesn't need to be told something they already know. Tim Cook has the entire maps team locked in the basement all sharing 2 loaves of stale bread and a can of Diet Coke. Rumor has it they don't leave until starvation besets them or maps gets fixed. Whichever comes first. I'm bettin' on starvation myself.

In the meantime I suggest folks just stay closer to home and cancel all trips greater than 5 miles until this crisis is averted.
