When will unlocked iPhone 5 be sold?

I know its being sold in Canada... But its not being sold in the United States yet. Anyone have any idea how long it will be before apple will release the factory unlocked version in the US?

statistically verizon. it has more bands of LTE, but realistically im not sure what bands most overseas carries use

He didn't plug it into iTunes and do a restore. Once you do that it will be unlocked.

im not sure, i dont know much about other carriers..

i know it wont work with LTE for att and im pretty sure T-Mobile is going to be on the same bands as att.

He may have bought it unsubsidized, but if Apple associated an AT&T account with his iPhone, it may have remained locked.

When I bought my 4S last year on the second day of availability, I made sure to mention device-only and was careful not to give out any account information or phone number information. It was a little easier for me, though, simply because I was already on T-Mobile and hasn't had an AT&T account anyways.

All international, but only HSPA+ in the US, unless you're actually going to use it on Verizon.

Im just frustrated that they dont release it unlocked from the start... I mean they are just losing out on potential customers...
