since my ipad 2 i have only used one wall charger for all my devices,it won't charge any faster but it won't hurt the phone either.

Ok thanks all so I can bring one charger now. I'll look into the adapter but i already got an extra cable

That is my understanding, too. When I need a faster charge, I use my ipad charger.

really? for two years i have been charging my iPhones with the iPad charger lol figured it didn't matter

I charge with the ipad charger, connected to a USB extension cable to my lightning cable. Lots of stuff going on, but no problems with charging!
The only thing I notice sometimes is that the usage starts once it fully charges. It will have some usage and show a standby of a few hours when i wake up.

There could be something to be said for carrying a spare charger in case the first one dies on you during a trip and there's no Apple store nearby.
