Many of you thought I was crazy when I posted this last month of so, but as you can see, it is possible to one day see a $99 iPhone!

I think the $199 iPhone with contract is a very strong possibility this summer. Apple may even cut the price to get the contract price to $149 by Christmas 2008 and most certainly by Christmas 2009.

That's how they are going to sell 10 million units per year.

Apple will want a healthy margin on a phone if there is still a way to get it jailbroken come July. In terms of pricing, the handset seems to be being muted at a subsidised price. So Apple isn't dropping a whole $50 necessarily, it's just being subsidised over the length of a contract. So you may not see such a low price at an Apple store where you could just buy the handset.

Unlocking / Jailbreaking iPhone will become less popular I imagine, but we have to wait and see.

I really believe AT&T is not going to subsidize the iPhone. They're already giving Apple kickbacks. How much money are they willing to lose on this thing?
