Does anyone else have some strang static sound in the keyboard audio feedback.
When I hold the 14 Pro Max without a case in the lower third, sometimes the feedback gets slightly distorted and even irregular.
Flat on the table or inside a case it's gone.
Noticed this on three devices so far in varying degrees. On some it's worse than the other.

Easiset way to reproduce is to just delete a longer text with holding the backspace key.

Bumping this up.
I noticed now that it not the metal case creating the static sound, but light hitting the front ambient or FaceID sensor used for auto brightness.
In relatively dark rooms the static sounds are gone, if it's bright enough the static starts, but its independent of the display brightness. A dark screen in a bright room still creates the static sound.

If auto brightness is turned off the static is completely gone.
Fells more like a hardware/crosstalk problem on the PCB.

Audio examples attached
Both are just holding backspace for 3 seconds deleting a string until iOS start deleting in blocks rather single characters.

Dark ambient

Bright ambient

My pro has the same issue it’s driving me crazy & I’ve also tested your theory with lights off & the static sound isn’t there!! It’s so so odd!!! I don’t hear the same issue when earphones are plugged in either… I’m not sure what to do. I can’t get your audio examples to play but I know the issue you’re talking about and mine is the same. It’s mildly annoying to be honest. Also easily replicated by sitting your phone under direct light & typing a note worked for me to do it too.

Mmh…, when I posted the files were working Now they don‘t.
Dropbox share link with the same files:

It has to be a software issue.
When I’m using my AirPods, the crackling is gone, but it still gets irregularly.
As I normally have audio feedback off it‘s not really bothering me.
It was just the first thing I noticed when setting up the iPhone while entering the WI-FI password.

Strang that you are the first person also noticing (and posting) up until now.

I would imagine it’s a software issue, have replaced my phone for it and the replacement had the same problem but it’s absolutely the same issue I’m having here too! My headphones nor my apple EarPods (wired ones) pick up the issue. I noticed it when typing a long text to a friend! & then copied a long note I saw and then deleted it from my notes app using the deleting key and it did it too yet when no direct light actually hits the phone even with Auto-brightness switched on it behaves as normal. So strange.

Update: had my phone swapped for a separate issue by my network & the new one does it too same reason thing! I’m really thinking it’s a software thing? Only when sunlight/lights in general hits the sensor under the screen & Auto-brightness is switched on … switch that off and it doesn’t happen or on darker days there’s no issue
