My Phone 14 Pro Max LTE is faster than 5G (ug). Is this normal? T-Mobile.
Also, for a regular user, is there any value in 5G always on or auto on if everything works great with LTE, including YouTube videos, websites, music apps, etc.
The additional benefits of having 5G turned off, is improved battery life.

I did not know you could turn off the 5G. I might do this. The 5G coverage in my area is terrible. Going to give this a shot. And it can improve the battery life on something I am already impressed with?! say less. Lol

T-Mobile, which is my carrier as well, makes claims to be the best 5G network. Well, it's early days in the 5G rollout.

I was with Sprint when they rolled out LTE. 3G was faster then because they were involved in upgrading. I was a guinea pig for their rollout.

You're going to find 5G is faster in some places and in some places LTE will be faster because, again, early days.

This is one of the reasons I went with the 11 Pro Max in February 2021 and not the iPhone 12 PM. My 11 PM is LTE only so I enjoy the speeds of a mature LTE network without being a 5G early adopter guinea pig - like I was for LTE with Sprint.

I love my 11PM. Best IPhone ever. I keep it for travel because of physical sim. 14PM is better but I can’t say it’s much better: pics are better for sure but the rest, including processing and battery power is the same imho.
