Apple would never release a machine that would overheat under any sort of normal use (including 100% CPU for very long periods of time). What kind of question is that?
 
Maybe not "overheat" as far as killing the processor and such, but Apple has defenetly released a few laptops in the past that I wouldn't ever consider touching with bare skin.

How hot do the new ones get to touch, I suppose would have been a better question...I know I'd be curious on the answer.
 
Most laptops do get hot after some use, and most aren't suited for actual use on the lap. I doubt it will get hot enough to damage the processor and the computer, but with most laptops, you would feel discomfort using it on your lap for extended periods of time. Use it on a desk and you will most likely be fine.
