Just got my new high-end 2011 15" MBP. Kept all the spec's the same (2.2ghz, 750gb hd, etc) but I did get the high res anti-glare. I am going to get an SSD when they are cheaper later this year (hopefully). I am doing the battery charging for calibration right now, so it's not even on yet, hopefully I won't have any issues anyone else has had with there new '11 mbp. I'll keep you all updated!

how many days did it take to arrive?
I'm hoping to buy the high res glossy myself!

That kind of laptop without an SSD is like a Ferrari without its engine. Looks gorgeous, interior is lovely, but it's missing the one thing that really changes everything.

Whatcha gonna do on it?

Nothing to intense, I basically needed a beast to multi-task like a champ. I normally have about 10 excel documents open at a time ranging from 5mb - 50mb each. Writing, etc.

3 days, paid the additional $18 to get it in 2-3 days and it was right on day 3 early in the AM.

I like the anti-glare never had this before since my first Mac was a MacBook '07. I love it.

I also got the Magic Mouse and the battery recharge kit, the mouse is simply amazing, no lie! Here is a pic below.

I'm at a friend's house so it's his messy desk, mine is all glass and neat / clean at my home office and my main office is covered with books.

Also this MBP is awesome, fast, reliable and I am working on battery calibration right now but for the simple fact it lasts more than an hour (my macbook was dying, thus less than an hour) I'm in heaven. I thought it would take time to get used to typing on this thing compared to the macbook since there is more resting space for your palms, but came naturally and literally I'm in heaven!

I think you should have used the Lotus metaphor. Base lotus doesn't have the same engine as the Lotus elise. I will upgrade to SSD when they are cheaper and offer more space. No rush on it, just needed a new laptop for simplifying my work load with faster processing.

or you could say its like a tesla roadster. which is a lotus body with an electric motor. i built a machine to assemble the battery trays for the tesla. cool car.

Congratulations. Would love to get a 2011 model myself, but it looks like next year is more likely.

I regret not going for anti glare, hopefully next time around.
Enjoy!

How is the fan noise?

Honestly I have no noise at all. I used Ripit on a dvd and about 55% complete the fans kicked on for a few seconds and then went away. Was rocking a solid 43c the entire process and I idle around 28-30c via iStat. Right fan was at 2001rpm left fan 1996rpm. No noise at all. Love this machine!!!

Congratulations to you, can`t wait to get my hands on mine. Arriving in a few days, MacBook Pro, 17", BTO 128 SSD, 8 Gb ram, Hi res antiglare. Fell like a kid just before chrismas...:D
