15" 2011 MBP hangup in sleep mode will not restart

MBP goes to sleep and after 1/2 hour or more, will not restart. Sleep light blinks, hitting key and keypad causes keylights to relight, but laptop will not restart, even after long wait; have to hold down power button to hard boot.

Apple tried to chase down problem, and just replaced MBP.

Help? Anyone experience same problem?
