Alright so just yesterday my MBP 2018 came back from repair (had display issues on the Touch Bar and main screen), which was super speedy by the way, and I'm just wondering if there's some way to tell if I got the new "fixed" butterfly keyboard that supposedly came around the 2019 mid-year refresh. The one with the new "membrane" or whatever? Perhaps surprisingly, my old keyboard never had any issues and the new one feels a bit different, so I'm guessing I did, but I'm just wondering if there's a way to confirm.

Thanks.

For the record I actually prefer the old feel, this one feels a bit weightier and slower, but I wonder if I just have to break it in a bit. I tried the 16" in-store a few days ago and of course that keyboard is just superior to any incarnation of the Butterfly. But I don't have the money for that yet so...

no, the new design is only dedicated to the 2019 machines. The older keyboards are replaced with the 2018 keyboard
