I was google about macs and i found this:

http://www.everymac....re-i7-macs.html

The Processor of MB 2011 Early 2011 is the 2720QM ( http://ark.intel.com...-up-to-3_30-GHz) )

While the processor of MB Late 2011 is the 2675QM ( http://ark.intel.com...-up-to-3_10-GHz) )

While the first was the top in the beginning of the year(2011), the second is the cheaper 15.4 nowadays but ,isn't weird apple put an bottom processor on MBP Late 2011?

As we may see on Intel website, the model 2720 has a better Powerboost (3.3Ghz againt 3.1Ghz),and its supports until 32GB, while the second just until 16GB

Beside other technologies that can be found at the "better" processor and can't in the second.... I thought that the same processor that was used at 2.2 Early was used at 2.2 Late 2011

The "custom" processor of MBP Early 2011(2.3Ghz is the -2820QM-, and it's practically as good as the standard processor of the new top Late 2011 , the 2760QM,while one has 0.1Ghz more, the other has a bigger cache...

Doubt:

Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) -> 32GB
Memory Types -> DDR3-1066/1333/1600

I fount this on tech specs of 2720QM and 2720QM, does it means that the macbook(Early 2011 de 15.4 with processor custom/standart) supports DDR3 1600MHz and 32GB or it depends of Motherboard too?

I've found this -> http://browse.geekbe...ekbench2/566317

1. Please repair your links, they are invalid.
2. What you call "supports until" is the amount of RAM, which Intel tested with the specified processor. They update the KB-articles regularly, if new RAM modules are available on the market. AFAIK, all Sandy Bridge processors (mobile) have the same memory controller, so they should support the same amount of RAM. The current limit for Sandy Bridge mobile processors is 32 GB.

And yes RAM support depends also on the firmware (EFI) of the logicboard (Example (click me)). The EFI executes a POST (Power On Self Test), so it must be able to check the RAM. Higher RAM speeds (higher than the current 1333 MHz standard) require more battery power and produce more heat-not an ideal combination in a thin, mobile device like the MBP. The speed improvement is in the range of 5-15 percent (maximum), but the prices are much higher and the availability is much lower. It is much better for you, if you use the standard RAM, which your MBP-handbook specifies.

Some links comparing the processors.

It does seem the edge goes to the 2720QM

http://processors.findthebest.com/compare/90-92/Intel-i7-2720QM-vs-Intel-i7-2675QM

http://compare-processors.com/rank/all.php?Core+i7-2720QM=on&Core+i7-2675QM=on&cp=Compare

For some reason the 2720QM 2.2 i7 performance gain is 8% over the similarly clocked 2675QM 2.2 i7

While the higher clocked 2760QM 2.4 i7 only shows only a 3% performance gain over the 2720QM 2.2 i7

http://compare-processors.com/rank/all.php?Core+i7-2760QM=on&Core+i7-2720QM=on&cp=Compare

Evidently all 2.2 i7 CPUs are not equal

Of course the Early 2011 2.2GHz is faster than the Late 2011 2.2GHz processor.

The Late 2011 processor is an evolution of the original Early 2011 2.0GHz processor. It has lower turbo modes and overall it is a lower end chip. Just look the the processor numbers: the Early 2011 chip is 27xx whereas the Late 2011 is 26xx—not the same family.

The Early 2011 2.2GHz chip is succeeded by the Late 2011 2.4GHz chip in terms of features, functionality, and performance.

(This is the same reply to your new thread, which evidently is the same post)

@alphaod: Thanks for the clarification! Thank god, i've the Early-2011 17" MBP:

Code:
sysctl -n machdep.cpu.brand_string
It returns:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz

Wow, I would feel ripped off with the new one XP

Why would you?

The Early 2011 2.2GHz model was the higher end configuration model for $2200.

The Late 2011 2.2GHz model is the base configuration model for $1800.

Oh oops. Totally forgot we were comparing 15in.
Sorry :p
I bought the 17in so the new one comes with the 2.4GHz huh.

So you saying that "2670QM" also supports 32GB because all mobile processors has the same memory controller?

Well, when we see at Apple Website we think that it is the same, i at least thought: WOW, apple put the same processor that MBP Early 2011 TOP had inside the MBP Late 2011! If i had bought, i would feel ripped off!
