What's the expected release date for an updated 15" PB?
What will be new besides alu and backlit keyboard?
Will the 15" become the first PB with > 1GHz?

TIA,
Ingo

Your guess is as good as mine, or anyone else's here!! But I'll try anyway:

1) Anytime between now and june/july
2) No idea, though I would guess at something less featured than the 17, but more than the 12.
3) PROBABLY unlikely - if they speedbump it, they will do them all IMHO

I'm THIS close to just ordering a 12" PB. I know that I would appreciate the portability of that model over anything else, but the intrigue of what the new 15's specs might be.... :D

Third Tuesday of the 4th month of the year after the weekly world news says the second coming of christ is going to happen.

Same specs as the 17" model.

1Ghz plus...nope.

Since we are indulging in opinion, here's mine: the 15.x will continue to be the PB market leader - probably outselling the other 2 by several fold (if you can gauge it by all the anghst expressed on this board about buy or wait). Apple should throw something special into it for that reason. Maybe the 12 and 17 are just ways of extending sales of existing stuff - albeit with some new spice thrown in. If this really is to be the "year of the laptop", the major r + d will be thrown where it will give the highest return.

Count me on the Wait side!

I think the 15" pBook will be the highest seller of the three. I think the 12" will be second and the 17" third.
