I'm selling my 15" unibody and have a 17" on order. Do they use the same power brick?

I'm asking because I have my 15" tie wrapped to a desk neatly to keep the wires hidden (my wife hates wires). If they are the same I can just sell the 17" power supply with my 15" uni. I'll order an extra power supply for when I take it on the road.

Thanks

order new power brick,

they are identical. wattages might be diffrent. could pose a problem.

even though it is most times safe to use a higher wattage adapter, on mac's they are very finicky with power.

i believe the unibody uses 85w.

85 Watt and 65 Watt Power Bricks

Apple sells two power bricks. One is 65 Watts and the other is 85 Watts. I ordered a spare 85 Watt. The 65 Watt is for the MacBook. I don't know what the 15" uses--I'd guess the 85 Watt.

There are problems associated with these power bricks. They can overheat at the magnetic connector and melt. They can also fail at the other end. I've read that people recommend the 85 Watt for all laptops.

This doesn't answer your question, but perhaps you can double check with an Apple Store.

There's also the 45W for the MBA :p

But yes, 17" and 15" models use the same power supplies.
