Hi all, I need your help to decide my FIRST :apple:MAC, as I soon have to record/ edit guitar tutorials audio/videos and upload to websites and share with others.

I'd like to buy a 15" MacBook pro to edit (preferably record with iPhone 4S for 1080p) using quad-core to proceed, but I'm unsure if the SSD/video ram matters much. Does SSD/ video ram matter much for editing software like iMovie/Final Cut Pro?

Which one is a better deal (price/performance), wondering if both suffice:)confused:) for the purpose of video editing?

1. 15" rMPB 2012
Apple refurbished, 16G Ram/256 SSD / 2.6GHz i7
Nvidia GT650M 1Gb, warranty to Apr 2014
~$1800

2. 15" cMPB early l2011
Used, 8G Ram/500G HDD/ 2.2GHz i7
Radeon 6750 1Gb
Hi-res matte screen
Under Applecare to Jun 2014
~$1150

To be honest, I have been reading over the "Mega HASWELL waiting thread":D
And the harder question is......which one do you think it'd lose less, if I sell it and update with Haswell in 2014(refurbished when available)?
(if 12 hours battery I'll update with Haswell, otherwise I'll keep this for min 5 years )

Thank you very much for any advice and suggestions!!!

Try a search on the forum, there are literally thousands of cMBP vs rMBP threads... ;-)

Good luck with your choice!
