Hello all, I have an original A1150 15" Macbook Pro with the 2GHz Core Duo that seems to have had a bad backlight for the LCD. The laptop will boot just fine and works fine with an external monitor. The internal screen is just extremely dim.
So I went ahead and ordered an inverter and replaced that, same problem. I purchased a glossy LCD replacement screen new and replaced that, same problem, and now for some reason you can't adjust the brightness. Before with the original matte LCD, you could adjust the brightness but it was still very dim no matter what. I also purchased the display cable and replaced it, same problem. The only thing I haven't replaced is the inverter cable. Since it was expensive I was going to go ahead and make one and try that as the last resort.
I've already reset the PRAM and took the battery out and held down the power button for 5 seconds, and that didn't help any. The screen is still super dim.
Do you guys have any other suggestions? If the inverter cable isn't it, then I'm guessing it's just the logic board. It looks as if the laptop was dropped, but the user didn't say.
Thanks for your suggestions!
