Here's a little background. . .
This iMac is supposed to boot to OS X, but it displays a folder with a question mark in the center during start-up (unable to locate the operating system folder); which could be easily resolved by using the install discs (which are included) to reload the operating system. However, after start-up is complete, the screen just displays several variations of horizontal and vertical lines, and nothing else. I can't even get it to respond to any keyboard commands, or eject the disc drive, etc.
 
Yes, it sounds like your logic board is fried. scrambled video is never good at all.
