After seeing this thread, I finally had to register and put in my two cents. I bought an Al PowerBook G4 15" three days after they came out, and I am competely happy with it. I'm actually a switcher - I was waiting since January for the replacement of the TiBook. The latch is a little tricky, but it is certainly not the major annoyance that some have made it out to be. It's fast (even faster with the Panther I just put on it), extremely easy to use, and looks great. So, don't let all the negative reviews discourage you. I think that the problems of the few have been magnified because most people that are happy with them have been quiet. Besides, if there is a problem, Apple's customer service will likely handle the problem swiftly.
The only concern that the Macworld review gave me was the issue regarding external displays. So, I'll be sure to test it out this week, and if I experience the same problems, maybe I'll change my outlook...but I doubt it.
