15" IPS or PVA replacement screen (mid-2009)

Hello everyone!

Is it possible to replace original anti-glare screen in 15" mid-2009 Macbook Pro with higher quality PVA or IPS panel with LED backlight? I'm interested in 1440x900 or 1680x1050 resolution if possible.

Did somebody do such upgrade?

Have you simply considered buying an desktop monitor such as the Apple Cinema Display or Dell Ultrasharp U2410? This would probably easier and less expensive, if it were even possible, which I doubt it is.
