15" MacBook Pro 2018 with Iiyama 5k XB2779QQS

Hi everyone.

Last year I finally got a new MBP in the form of a 15" MBP with Radeon 560x. I'm in the process of buying a display and would like to purchase an Iiyama XB2779QQS. Said display has a 5k panel that can be driven via displayport 1.3 or 1.4. Sadly, nowhere online you can find any definitive information whether this display will work with Titan Ridge based MBPs. You would need a USB-C to DP 1.3 cable which seem hard to come by...

Anyhow... I contacted iiyama directly to see what they have to say for themselves and post back any reply here. In the meantime... is there anyone here who lowns said combination or can test it or has any other kind of intel on this situation?! It'd be greatly appreciated.

I think it should work. It definitely won't work with Alpine Ridge based MBPs or computers like the Mac Mini 2018 that use Intel Graphics (unless you use a custom resolution with a low refresh rate). The Moshi USB-C to DisplayPort Cable should work.
