hi,
i was wondering if it still mattered anymore whether a macbook pro retina's display was LG or samsung.

the reason i ask, it seemed like a bigger issue in 2012, with reports of discoloration and image retention, so i wonder if it still is now in 2013?

the story is:
the one i bought in march 2013, is a 15" early 2013 model.
it has a samsung display.
some point between march and sept, i noticed a cluster of stuck pixels near the center of the screen, i could see them on black or white backgrounds.
then in sept the flash drive crashed, i couldn't start up the computer, luckily i had it backed up just before it happened.
i brought it to the genius bar for warranty service, replacing screen and flash drive.

in the mean time, i bought another, identical model.
it has an LG display, SJA2.

now that i have them both for the day, i can compare em.
samsung is warmer, and looks less nice, but once i work on it a bit, my eyes white balance to it, and then the LG looks cool and not nice.

so it seems the bigger concern is whether one is more likely to age and discolor faster, or develop image retention issues.

thanks,
