Someone clear this up for me. My maxed out Mid-'15 has a 2.8ghz quad-core i7 with turbo boost up to 4.0ghz. If you look at the maxed out '16 it is a 2.9 with turbo boost up to 3.8ghz?

Is this processor inferior to last years?

No GHz don't mean everything. The much newer generation processor is more powerful and efficient.

Could someone elaborate a little on how this current processor is superior to that of the one in my MBP? Don't have to go nuts but just some general consensus on it.

I'm just not seeing a real benefit from upgrading.

Thanks.
