my 13" intel MBA is a POS and can't run a browser (chrome) with 80 tabs open. If I take it off the charger the battery just drains in a few hours.

Hopefully the new MBA 15" can handle my load and will hopefully not need a charge after 18 hours.

Question is, 8gb or 16gb?

With 80 tabs, you'll be lucky to get 18 hours of battery life. And, you'll definitely want 16 GB. Just make sure the memory saver feature on your browser is enabled, so it can unload unused tabs from RAM.

does chrome have that feature?

It does! Although it happens automatically after a tab has been inactive for a good chunk of time

EDIT: second screenshot shows where to find the setting

People say just go with binned 14 but honestly the 15 has its appeal to me at least in the 16/512 config. I still keep my 14 MBP in clamshell mode for the heavy lifting and the 15 goes with me in the backpack. The 14 is great dont get me wrong but the bulkiness and smaller screen for my tired eyes doesnt make it a great fit for portable use. Its damn neat perfect otherwise. Ive been blessed enough to afford both. I would have a hard time choosing if i was forced to only pick one cause they both excel at what I NEED them for.
