I have a 2010 15" MBP, Will this work with my Mac?
Intel 510 Series (Elm Crest) SSDSC2MH120A2K5 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Thanks

yes it will but i wouldn't waste my $$ on a sata III ssd. You have a 2010 sata II macbook. Go find a intel 320 or Kingston v100+ or vertex 2. Less problems and cheaper.

Ignore this post.

If you want a SATA 3 SSD go get a OWC 6G SSD or a OCZ Vertex 3

Thanks, here is the thing.. My boss already bought this... Do you think there will be issues?

Your telling him to ignore this post so he can waste his money on a ssd that wont even perform better than any other cheaper sata ii ssd on his mbp?

He has a 2010 MBP. It has SATA II, so why buy a SATA III drive? Some sata III drives even showed they did worse on sata II connections than regular sata II drives.

What hasan told you was correct- your MBP is limited to the amount of speed it will allow from a SSD. A cheaper solution would be to buy a SSD that saturates your connection (SATA II) and not a SATA III. However, if your boss already bought it- put it in! You won't have any problems.
