15" MBP i5 or i7

I need input from anyone using a MBP for extensive video editing. Would you advise paying extra for the 15" i7? This purchase is for a college student and so neither a Mac Pro nor an iMac are options. Thanks for any help.

Why isn't an iMac an option? They're cheaper.

Anyway, you'd benefit from the i7.

Although you didnt really specify what kinds of things you will be doing, I think the 15" i7 will be best for you. A lot of reviews like Anandtech have said that the upgrade is worth it. Then again, any upgrade is worth it if you really need it. But yea the i7 will probably last you longer too, if that is important to you.
