hey guys just wondering if any of you guys have heard any news at all about if and when they are going to do a MBP 15" refresh?, and if so what have they changed?

I'm going to purchase it next August most likely

You mean August this year or next? Nothing is coming out this month.... MAYBE October but that's a BIG maybe.

If you are buying next August, I can say with 100% certainty that, yes a refresh for the entire MBP line will have happened by then

Most of what I've read is speculation but those in the industry are all pretty much saying one of two things:

Either

A: Minor upgrades prior to Christmas - maybe a fresh 15" mbp crafted in a slim fashion like the Air.

or

B: Nothing until Ivy Bridge can be shipped in bulk and then a processor upgrade along with who knows what else but obviously other upgrades will be included.

I suspect we'll see thinner laptops in the next refreshes as Apple seems to be saying they think this is the way to go.

The new Sandy Bridge CPU's could come out next month already.

All that means is the line will be refreshed with a very slight processor bump and not much else. They wont change GPU drastically if at all, or add SSD or remove optical drive or redesign the case.
